Your Speaker Team
Andreas Thümmel is a professor of applied mathematics in Darmstadt. As an experienced consultant, he also offers his clients training, workshops, and project collaboration. His experience is based on the analysis and optimization of complex economic and industrial data in various sectors. These include materials science, aerospace, automotive, electronics, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, and plastics industries. His focus is on research, development, and support based on statistical and data science approaches to improve related developments and processes for his partners and clients.
As a consultant and trainer, Björn Noreik optimizes manufacturing processes and product developments in the automotive, electronics, pharmaceutical, and plastics industries. With over 20 years of experience, methodological and statistical tools, machine learning, and Design of Experiments (DoE), he empowers teams for process improvement, data analysis, and new product development. As a certified Minitab trainer, he supports quality projects and conducts workshops.

Question: What practical exercises can I expect in the workshop?
Answer: You will plan and conduct accelerated tests with LED components, analyze data with statistical methods, and learn to distinguish damage mechanisms. Depending on the group’s preference, we have also prepared other experiments, e.g., for load cycle tests or pull-off tests.
Question: Is the workshop suitable for beginners?
Answer: Yes, the workshop is suitable for anyone interested in reliability and lifespan analysis. Fundamentals are taught, so neither prior knowledge of statistics nor special software skills are absolutely necessary.
Question: Can I bring my own questions or data?
Answer: It depends! Your own data or problems that you wish to share with all participants can be brought up during the open Q&A session or discussions. In other cases, we are happy to support you personally as part of our support services.
